About

The reason for this site is simple: Christians who have made culturally radical lifestyle choices are often isolated and disconnected from the body of Christ. The lifestyle choices I’m talking about are: home schooling, quiver full (meaning children are always a blessing and, therefore, married couples generally shouldn’t try not to have them) , purity in courtship, clean media & music, modest dress, father led households, and family integrated churches or home churches.

If these issues resonate with you are in the right place. Our goal is to be a resource that connects you with like-minded individuals and families. We hope the families and individuals you meet here will be a resource to help you find meaningful Christian support and fellowship, a church home where you don’t feel like an outsider or a freak, and a place where young, single, purity minded adults can find like-minded spouses.

We are new, so initially the number of families and individuals will be small and we will have to work out the bugs in the system. But be patient. We hope and pray that we will quickly adjust and improve the site, and we pray, too, that this online community will grow quickly. If you are interested in signing up, we ask that you agree to our Statement of Faith. Anyone can sign up for free, but we ask you to consider donating at least $5 per year to support this ministry to the body of Christ. It does takes time and money to develop and maintain this site. Our prayer is that God will use this site to bless His people. - James McDermott

How It Works

Upon registration, everyone who joins CFMP will receive a profile page, as well as a blog and a Private Message Box. Your profile page gives you a chance to tell a little bit about yourself, and also contains a short list of general questions. The purpose of these questions is to give other families (or singles, as the case may be) an idea of who you are and what you believe. A member-search function is also included.

These are done in the hopes that Christians may find others who are like-minded and, perhaps, begin to communicate with each other. Beyond that..who knows? You may find nearby like-minded Christians that you didn't know before, edifying fellowship, a church home - maybe even a spouse.

NOTE: When signing up for a profile a username must be a single word with no spaces (the computer will reject it otherwise). A display name may be more than one word, if you wish.

The Profile

Some of the profile questions are optional, and as such you are not required to answer them. Others are not optional and the Administrators may remove your profile if you do not answer them. (Non-optionals include: 'do you subscribe to ChristianFamilyMeetingPlace's Statement of Faith', and 'do you support homeschooling'). The Administrators may also remove your profile if you do not subscribe to ChristianFamilyMeetingPlace's Statement of Faith, are needlessly divisive, or hold beliefs they consider destructive to the body of Christ (see our Terms of Use).
Note: singles under the age of eighteen may not sign up for a profile.
Please read our Terms of Use and Privacy Statement.

The Travelers' List

This is a list of members who are willing to open their homes to fellow members who are travelling. To make arrangements members must contact those on the list through ChristianFamilyMeetingPlace, and exact details will be worked out between those involved.

The list contains only members of ChristianFamilyMeetingPlace, and can only be viewed by members of ChristianFamilyMeetingPlace.

If you are a member and wish to be placed on the list, contact the Administrator. To be placed on the list, you must provide your city and state of residence.

If you are a logged-in member, you may view the list by clicking here.

The Member-Search Function

A member may use this function by clicking on 'Members' and then typing his search into either the Member Search Via Name or Member Search Via Tag field.

A tag is like a keyword that the computer looks for when it searches. For example, if you wished the computer to display only those members with family profiles, simply type 'family' into the Member Search Via Tag field and hit Enter. Similarly, you can also use the Tag field to search by: location, age, gender, and type of church preferred.

Note: tags must be exact for the computer to locate them. That is why the profile page asks specifically that you state your gender as male or female, give your age in numbers (do not spell it out), etc.

The General Search Function

A member can use this by simply typing a keyword into the search box at the top of the screen and hitting Enter. This search function will search for all tags - not just those on a member's profile.

When writing a blog post, a member may specify his or her own tag (search keyword or keyphrase) for that post by typing it into the Tags field below the post.
